Peer Mediators

Peer mediators

Townsend’s peer mediators are made up of our year five and six pupils, their role within the school is to support the younger year groups during lunchtime play. They have been trained by the schools Learning Mentor to help others mediate conflict respectfully and unbiasedly by finding an appropriate way to resolve problems that have arisen. The peer mediators are not responsible for punishing pupils and always pass incidents they cannot deal with to the Lunchtime supervisors. They have had great success so far this term helping others deal with their problems, listening to those who are upset and helping those who are shy and lonely to join in games.
